Bring a (Children's) Book Drive in Norwalk

Several organizations join forces to promote literacy

The Mayor’s Office, Early Childhood Council, Norwalk Public Library, Norwalk Reads and United Way of Coastal Fairfield County are joining forces this month to promote literacy in the City. 

The organizations are sponsoring the Norwalk "Bring-a-Children's Book" Drive during the entire month of May.

The donated children’s books will then be distributed via various programs and events throughout the city as part of an ongoing campaign to promote literacy and learning among children in Norwalk. 

The community is encouraged to bring new or gently-used children's books to the following locations:

  • Hotel Zero Degrees, 353 Main Avenue 
  • Hilton Garden Inn, 560 Main Avenue 
  • Courtyard By Marriott, 474 Main Avenue 
  • EVEN Hotel, 426 Main Avenue 
  • Doubletree By Hilton, 789 Connecticut Avenue 
  • Norwalk Inn, 99 East Avenue •Norwalk Public Library, 1 Belden Avenue 
  • SoNo Branch Library, 10 Washington Street 
  • East Norwalk Library, 51 Van Zant Street 
  • Rowayton Library, 33 Highland Avenue 
  • Norwalk City Hall, 125 East Avenue 
  • Norwalk Police Headquarters, 1 Monroe Street 
  • Norwalk Fire Stations, #1, #2, #3, #4, #5 
  • Oak Hills Park, 165 Fillow Street
