Rev. Lindsay Curtis Appointed to Judicial Selection Comm.

Sen. Duff appoints Norwalk pastor to 3 year term

Wednesday afternoon, Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff announced the immediate appointment of the Reverend Dr. Lindsay Curtis to the state’s Judicial Selection Commission. The appointment expires on April 9, 2018.
 
“The Judicial Selection Commission has a substantial task and it is one Dr. Curtis is well-suited for, said Sen. Duff. “He will be a wise and steady voice as the commission deliberates on judicial nominations. I wish him good luck.”
 
“I will endeavor to serve to the best of my ability in this role and I look forward to working with the other members of the commission toward the common goal of finding and submitting to the Governor the brightest and the best to serve as Judges across our state,” said Dr. Curtis. “I want to extend my sincere gratitude to Senator and Majority Leader Bob Duff for his confidence and consideration.”
 
Dr. Curtis, a Chicago, Illinois native, currently serves as Senior Pastor of the 121-year-old Grace Baptist Church in Norwalk. He has a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Illinois and a Doctor of Divinity Degree from Eastern Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, Virginia.
 
Dr. Curtis has served as Vice-President At Large for the Connecticut State Missionary Baptist Convention, member and past President of the Interdenominational Ministers Fellowship and member of the Norwalk Clergy Association.
 
Additionally, he was formerly President of the Norwalk Branch of the NAACP and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Norwalk Children’s Foundation. He also served on the State of Connecticut’s Legislative Achievement Gap Commission/Task Force.
