Norwalk Snow Emergency To Be Lifted at 5am Wednesday

Travel ban has been lifted for local roads

Noon Tuesday Update: The Citywide Snow emergency will be lifted tomorrow at 5:00a.m.  City services will return to normal Wednesday.  City Hall and other municipal buildings should open at their scheduled times. The Norwalk Public Schools will make a decision later in the day Tuesday regarding Wednesday’s schedule.

As of 8:30 this morning, Governor Dannel Malloy lifted the travel ban for local roads in our area. The State wide travel ban will be lifted at 2:00 pm today. Service on the Metro North- New Haven Line will resume at 1pm today and operating on a Sunday schedule. Norwalk Transit services are suspended today but are expected to resume tomorrow.

The City’s Customer Service Department is open today and can be reached at 203-854-3200.

For everyone’s safety, please ensure your sidewalks are shoveled and vehicles are clear of snow before driving. Residents are encouraged to ‘Adopt a Hydrant’ and shovel an area around the hydrant for quick access by firefighters in case of an emergency.
