The Mayor's Gallery in Norwalk City Hall has been touched by a green thumb honoring two of the City's garden clubs.

Curator of the Mayor's Gallery Sooo-z Mastropietro said "Garden clubs often do a lot of their work under cover. They do it for the love of gardening and the effects that they yield are amazing."

The gallery features archives from both the Norwalk Garden Club and the Gardeners Club of Rowayton as well as artwork depicting flowers.

During the reception, Mayor Richard Moccia said "You know there are a lot of tough times sometimes in the community and things can go bad. But certainly beautiful plants or artwork picks up your day a little bit."

The Norwalk Garden Club says they enjoy getting their hands dirty for themselves and the love of their community.

"It's therapy for yourself. Gardening is a great therapy tool. It's very satisfying working with plants and to see them grow as well as beautify the town you're in." said Norwalk Garden Club President Janet Valus.

The exhibit honoring the Norwalk Garden Club and the Gardeners Club of Rowayton will be displayed until September 13th, 2013.
