With 17 day until Christmas, Senator Bob Duff opened his home to residents, to collect food and toys for those in need.

Senator Bob Duff said, "We really enjoy this. Tracey and I really enjoy opening up our home to the Norwalk and Darien community and asking them to bring either a food or a toy for the needy."

Residents showed their holiday spirit by bringing books, dolls and more to donate to local organizations.

Senator Duff added, "We know that a lot of people really want to help but sometime they don't know how to help. So if this can help direct them in a way, to have them bring food or a toy, that's great. We've done our job."

During the open house, children watched a canine demonstration from the Norwalk Police Department and got a visit from Santa Claus.

Senator Duff said, "Tomorrow [December 9th] and Tuesday, I'll be loading up my car and bringing them up to the various places, really with a lot of thanks from me to the community to be able to help those who are in need."
